A member of the Soviet Union figure skating team at the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble, France, Gorelik competed in the pairs competition. Fourth after the compulsaries, Gorelik and partner Tatiana Zhuk won the silver medal with a combined score of 312.3 (2.9 points behind the winners).
At the 1965 Pairs Figure Skating World Championships, Gorelik and partner Tatiana Zhuk finished in third place; they took the silver at both the 1966 and 1968 World Championships.
