Boris Nachamkin

Boris Alexander Nachamkin

Nachamkin was a member of the New York University Athletics Hall of Fame, and was one of the school's greatest players when he played for the Violets in the 1950s. He held the NYU career scoring record with 1,076 points when he graduated in 1954.

Career Highlights:
In 1952, Nachamkin helped lead NYU to a record of 17-7 and a berth in the NIT. Boris scored 13 points in their 81-66 first round loss to Dayton. Over the next two seasons, although Nachamkin himself continued to shine, the Violets had far less success. After going 10-11 in 1953, NYU only finished 11-9 in Boris's senior season (1954).

That year, Boris was selected by the Rochester Royals in the second round (16th overall) of the NBA Draft. Boris played sparingly for Rochester (29-43) in his one NBA season (1954-55). He appeared in only 6 games, scored 20 points, and grabbed 19 rebounds.

Boris played center at NYU, 1952-1954. He played in the NBA with the Rochester Royals in 1954-55.
