A featherweight and lightweight in the 1920s, Michaels defeated Red Cap Wilson in a three-round decision in May 1921. The following year, he was disqualified in the first-round of his bout with future lightweight champ Jimmy Goodrich. In his last recorded fight, he lost a 12-round decision to Frankie Pitcher in 1923.
