Franklin Charles

A 10-year minor league veteran, Frank finally made his debut in the majors when he played for Houston towards the end of the 2000 season. Though his Astro stint was wildly successful (he hit .429!), the big right-handed catcher was reassigned to the AAA New Orleans Zephyrs after the season. Charles then began the 2001 campaign with New Orleans in the Pacific Coast League and appeared in 3 games, hitting .333 (1-3) before being sent to the Rochester Red Wings, the AAA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Frank has appeared in 66 games for Rochester and is hitting .245 (57-233) with 1 HR and 22 RBI through August 26.
