One of Poland's best fencers in the 1930s, Kantor competed in epee events at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. In the team competition, Poland reached the semifinals but were eliminated after losing to France (4-12), and Germany (2.5-8.5). Kantor did not advance past the semifinals in the individual competition.
In 1939, Kantor fled from the Soviet occupation zone and was provided with money and travel papers by SS General Reinhard Heydrich, an avid fencing aficionado. Unfortunately, Kantor was deported to Majdanek concentration camp, where he died in 1943.
