Career Highlights:
Hatkoff was a terrific forward for Cornell in the early 1930s. After a great year in 1930 with Cornell's freshman squad, Hatkoff was considered a "sure starter" for the varsity team his sophomore season (1931). Prior to the season, he showed remarkable ability and the New York Evening Post declared that he, "has shown better form than any of the regulars in practice during the previous month. His play has been such that many believe the performance he gives this winter will determine the kind of season Cornell will have." (December 13, 1930)

It was high praise indeed for a sophomore and Hatkoff delivered during conference play, leading the team in scoring and finishing sixth in the conference with 57 points in ten games. Unfortunately, the rest of the squad did not fall in line. The Big Red finished fourth in the Ivy League with a 4-6 record, 10-9 overall.

The following season, Hatkoff again led the Big Red in scoring and was named first team All-Ivy League after finishing fourth in the conference with 82 points in ten games. Cornell improved upon their conference mark, finishing in third place with a 6-4 record (10-10 overall).

In 1933, his senior season, Cornell's performance was dismal. They finished in last place with a 1-9 mark. Hatkoff started every game but his scoring touch was off; he registered only 63 points (13th in conference and second on the team).
