According to the encyclopedia of JEWS in sports, Cohen (his first name is not given in the encyclopedia) played basketball at the University of Missouri for two seasons. In 1910, he was named second team All-Missouri Valley conference and Missouri finished third in the Southern Division with a record of 3-7 (8-10 overall).

The following year, Cohen was voted captain and Missouri again finished third (5-7 in conference). He repeated as second team All-Conference and was the fifth leading scorer in the Southern Division with 74 points (6.2 average).
