Fleischer, Jennifer

Jennifer is a dominating center at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a particularly formidable force on defense, with a penchant for shot blocking and one of the best rebounders in the Ivy League.

Career Highlights:
Fleischer was, without a doubt, the greatest player New Hartford high school has ever seen. She holds the school records in all major stat categories besides assists, with 1498 points, 1407 rebounds and 476 blocks in 4 years at the school. She led the section three league in rebounds during her entire high school career. Her senior year was simply outstanding. She averaged 19.8 points, 14.7 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game. She earned All-State honors for the second time and received All-Mohawk Valley honors for the third straight year.

The New Hartford star went to the University of Pennsylvania but had to play second fiddle to Katie Kilker in her freshman season of 2002-03. She averaged 3.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 8.5 minutes per game. However, when Jennifer was given the opportunity, her quality shone through. She scored 14 points against Yale and 11 against Princeton, while taking 10 rebounds on three occasions.

2003-04 was a breakout year for Fleischer, as she left Katie Kilker in her wake and became the undisputed starting center for the University of Pennsylvania. She scored 9.0 points, took 9.6 rebounds and blocked 1.48 shots per game. Jennifer was second in the Ivy-League in rebounding and fourth in blocking. Her performances were of a consistently high standard as Fleischer achieved three straight double-doubles in midseason. She tied the school record for blocked shots with seven against Lafayette on January 20th. Pennsylvania went 17-10 for the year. Jennifer�s efforts were rewarded with a Second-team All-Ivy. The rebound specialist was also named Ivy League Player of the Week in mid February.
