Schall, Bennie

After playing his college basketball at the University of Toledo in the late 1930s, Schall played briefly in the National Basketball League (NBL) in the 1940s. He later coached basketball at a JCC in Ohio.

Career Highlights:
Schall lettered in 1936-37 when the Rockets had a record of 18-4 under Hall of Fame head coach Harold Anderson. The Rockets started off slowly during the season, winning only four of their first seven games, but then won 14 of their final 15 games, including a triple-overtime victory over Western Reserve (51-50).

After graduating, Schall played professionally in the NBL, a regional league located mostly in the Midwest. In 1941-42, he played for the Toledo Jim White Chevrolets, appearing in two games and scoring one point. Following World War II, Schall then returned to the NBL and played in five games for the Toledo Jeeps, scoring two points. One of his teammates on the Jeeps was Julie Rivlin.
