Career Highlights:
Born in New Jersey, Marcus attended West Virginia, where he played as a forward. In his sophomore season (1935-36), he appeared in only four games and did not score as the Mountaineers had a record of 16-8. The following season, Marcus played more and appeared in 22 games, including nine starts, and scored a career-high ten points in a game against Marietta in March. In 1937-38, Marcus captained the team and averaged 4.6 points per game (in 18 games - 14 starts) as West Virginia had a record of 6-13.
