A member of the CCNY (City College of New York) Athletic Hall of Fame, Nadel played basketball at City College in the 1920s and led the Beavers to their first mythical Eastern championship.

Career Highlights:
A forward, Nadel played two seasons of varsity basketball at CCNY in the early 1920s under the legendary Nat Holman. In 1921-22, the Beavers won their first four games of the season before losing to Holy Cross, 29-27. In their next game, however, they rebounded, defeating a very good Princeton team, 26-24. City College froze the ball for the last few minutes to capture the victory. After two more mid-season victories, they split a series with Syraucuse and then defeated their rivals NYU (New York University) in the season finale, 38-18 City College finished the season with a record of 10-2 and were recognized as the Eastern champions.

In 1923, the Beavers had a marvelous team with Nadel, Leo Palitz, Doc Edelstein, Pinky Match, and senior captain Red Klauber. After winning their first seven games of the season, City College dropped a close contest to Syracuse, 31-30. They won their next two games, then avenged their only loss by dismantling Syracuse in the rematch, 30-21. CCNY then finished the season with two more victories for a record of 12-1 and captured their second straight Eastern championship.
