Harry Blitman

Blitman was a southpaw who fought professionally as a highly skilled, outstanding featherweight, beginning his career in 1926. Harry fought fellow Philadelphian and former world champion Benny Bass on September 10, 1928 in the City of Brotherly Love. Billed as a battle for the both the Pennsylvania and Jewish featherweight championship, Bass continually bombarded Blitman with shots to the body before knocking him unconscious in the sixth round.

Blitman's most notable victory was in June 1928, when he defeated featherweight champion Tony Canzoneri in 10 rounds. Harry retired in 1931 with a superb record of 52 wins in 63 fights.
