Alexander Marcus

Marcus played as an end for Temple University in the late 1920s. He then played one season in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 1927, Marcus helped lead Temple to a 7-1-0 record. The following year, he was named AP All-East honorable mention.

In 1933, Alexander played for a new NFL franchise, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Frankford Yellowjackets franchise in the NFL had been awarded to a syndicate headed by Bert Bell and the club was named the "Eagles" in honor of the symbol of the New Deal's National Recovery Act. That year, the Eagles had a record of 3-5-1 and finished fourth in the NFL East. It was Marcus's only season in the NFL.
