Barney Marcus
Marcus played as a back for Bates College (Maine) in the 1930s. In 1936, he set a school record with a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown. The record still stands as of 2004.

In 1936, Marcus was named Grantland Rice All-America honorable mention and AP All-East honorable mention as Bates College finished the season with a record of 2-4-0.. That year, he ran back for an interception 102-yards to score a touchdown against Maine. He also scored all 20 points in a 20-0 victory over Arnold and four touchdowns in a 25-0 win over Colby. Marcus finished the season with 11 touchdowns and 2 extra points for a total of 68 points. He was the sixth leading scorer in Eastern college football during the season and tops in New England.
