Swiadon captained New York University's football team in 1938 and played one season in the NFL in the 1940s.

Career Highlights:
A star at Erasmus High School (in Brooklyn), Swiadon played football and lacrosse in high school before playing two seasons at NYU. In 1938, he was team captain and named AP All-East honorable mention as the Violets had a record of 4-4-0.

After graduating, Phil played one season in the NFL with the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1943, he appeared in three games for the Dodgers, who finished the season 2-8-0 and were outscored 234-65 (the team didn't score until the fifth game of the season).
