Mike Veisor

Career Highlights:
In the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft, Veisor was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks with their 3rd pick (45th overall) following an outstanding career with the Hamilton Red Wings in the Canadian juniors. In 1973, Mike's only year in the CHL (before playing with Chicago in 1973-74), he was an All-Star, Rookie of the Year, and won the Terry Sawchuk Trophy for fewest goals allowed in the CHL. Mike's rookie season in the NHL was his best. He appeared in 10 games and had a record of 7-0-2, 1 shutout, and a 2.23 GAA. He also played in two playoff games for the Blackhawks (whose 41-14-23 season placed them second in the Western Division), but they lost in the semifinals.
Over the next five seasons, Mike moved back and forth between the Blackhawks and the minors. He never appeared in more than 17 games in one season for Chicago (in 1975, he was a CHL All-Star again). In 1980, Veisor was traded to the Hartford Whalers. That season (1980-81), he had a record of 6-13-6, appearing in a career-high 29 games. Veisor remained with the Whalers until the middle of the 1983-84 season, when he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets. He played in eight games for the Jets and had a record of 4-1-2. Mike retired after the season, having played in 139 games. He also played in four playoff games, with a mark of 0-2-0, and a 5.00 GAA.
