Birth and Death Dates:
b. Sept. 1, 1976
Career Highlights:
Rozental began his career in a blaze of glory for Universidad Catolica, taking the league by storm and starring in the Chilean national team. In January 1997, he then signed with Scottish powerhouse Rangers for four million pounds (six million dollars -- the most expensive signing in Chilean history). Unfortunately, Rozental's stay with the club was plagued by knee injuries and he appeared in only six full matches.
During his stay with the Rangers, Rozental was loaned out twice, including a stay with Universidad Catolica in 1999, where he scored 22 goals in 27 games and tried to rebuild his career. The following year, he played with Independiente in Argentina. and occasionally played for Chile when his knee was healthy. He signed with the Grasshoppers on loan (though Barcelona owned his contract at this time) in May 2002, after playing with Colo Colo in Chile in 2001-02. Rozental scored four goals with the team.
Having failed to adapt to Swiss soccer, Rozental sought out a Chilean club for the 2003-04 campaign. Espanola were happy to sign the former international. The team was eliminated in the second round of the Chilean Opening Championship in 2003-04. They lost 2-0 to Santiago Wanderers.
