Hajos, who began his atletic career as a competitive swimmer, was also a member of the first Hungarian National soccer team. He is a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (as a swimmer) and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Career Highlights:
Hajos, who was the first-ever swimming gold medalist at the 1896 Athens Games, was a member of the first Hungarian National soccer team in 1901. That year, he won the only cap (international appearance) of his career. A member of the club team BTC, Hajos helped his squad win the Hungarian League championship in 1901 and 1902 (he played forward). He later worked in soccer administration and was at one time the managing director of the Hungarian Football Union.
