Birth and Death Dates:
b. January 30, 1948
Career Highlights:
Litwin was a gold and bronze medal-winner at the Maccabiah Games, and is one of the top senior players in the United States. He won the USTA National grass court championships in the 35-and-over and in the 40-and-over divisions (the only senior player to ever win in both categories). With his victories, Bob went from being unranked to No.2 in the United States in a remarkably short amount of time. Litwin has been named USPTA Eastern Player of the Year eight times in the last 10 years.
In 1999, Litwin was one of four players to compete for the U.S. at the Veteran's World Team Championships. After capturing the gold medal in the team competition, he won a bronze after reaching the semifinals in the singles event. In 2001, Bob extended his undefeated streak in the Eastern 50-and-over division to four years (and won the Eastern sectional championships for the third consecutive year).
Known as "The Focus Coach," Litwin is the founder of The Sports Focus Institute. By using relaxation techniques, visualization, and attention-sharpening skills, Litwin helps athletes (and businesses) get, and remain, focused. He has helped people in many sports, including rowing, riding, show jumping, golf, basketball, and tennis. Litwin's well-known "Focus Tips of the Day" are featured on many sports tournament websites, including the U.S. Open and French Open sites hosted by USANetwork.com. Bob is a member of the USTA/Eastern Division Sports Science Committee, and provides answers to Sports Science questions on Tennis.com.
