Career Highlights:
Koltanowsky was the Champion of Belgium for most of the 1930's. Among the pioneers of blindfold chess, he set a world record in 1930 by playing 30 boards simultaneously. Losing his blindfold title to Alekhine, he later regained it in 1937, breaking the chess-master's mark of 32 by playing 34 simultaneous games and winning 25.
