The son of Victor Frank Sr., Victor Jr. was an excellent guard for Yale in the late-1940s. He was also a world-class discus thrower and competed in the 1948 Olympics.
Ranked in the top ten in the world in the discus throw between 1948-1951, Frank won the Ivy League discus championship from 1948-50, setting the meet record in 1949 with a throw of 177'11 1/4". He held the record until 1979.
